SLKDDM general membership meetings are held on the last Sunday of every month; and the meetings are held at the Maryland Association of Nonprofits Confernce Center. The Executive meets every two weeks regularly. The President also summons emergency meetings for both the general membership and the Executive as and when necessary. Regional meetings are also held in other states in the United States.
Who is eligible for organization's membership?
Any one who was born in Kenema District, Sierra Leone, West Africa; or, anyone who had resided in Kenema District and who wishes to contribute in any form towards improving the lives of the people of that District. Membership is also opened to all individuals or group of individuals who were not born in the Kenema District, but who have great interest in the development efforts embarked upon by the Kenema District Association.
At the moment, there are two registration procedures with the Sierra Leone Kenema District Development Mission:

After a completed application form is submitted to the above address, the task force of the KDA will review the application. If qualified to register, you will receive an acceptance letter from the Task Force. If not accepted, you will be notified.
YES. Every registered member of the Sierra Leone Kenema District Development Mission is expected to pay a monthly contribution of $10.00. This monthly contribution is paid directly to the organization at any of the address listed above. Other generous contributions and donations are also welcome (Optional)
In 2004, This organization democratically elected executive members to steer the affairs of the organization. The executive hence included the President, Vice President, Secretary General, Assistant Secretary General, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Social Secretary, Assistant Social Secretary, Public Relations Officer or PRO, Webmaster, State Coordinators for the various states where the organization has memberships, and Board of Directors. This executive is charged with the responsibility of steering the affairs of the organization both in the United States and in Sierra Leone. The organization only came to this decision after we realized that we are now fully established as registered organization in both the United States and in Sierra Leone as a non-profit organization.

The Kenema District Association is operating with a central authority vested in the Task Force. This is so due to the fact that priority is focused on addressing the urgent needs of the people of Sierra Leone, and Kenema District particularly. This organization is intended to be decentralized as and when the general membership deems it necessary.
YES. KDA membership comprises of natives of the Kenema District from different states of the United States and beyond. SLKDDM has members in Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Maimi, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, Virginia, USS Vella Gulf, Colorado, California, and Maryland.
YES, SLKDDM has a valid and active Bank Account with the Branch Banking and Trust Company in Maryland. Funds and Donations collected are used to facilitate the development efforts embarked upon by the organization. The funds and donation are to be used to the benefit of the people of Sierra Leone, and Kenema District in particular.
YES. The general membership and the Task Force are being audited and evaluated on a periodical basis. The responsibility of auditing and evaluating the organization is the duty of the Board of Directors. However, any member of the general body has the right to audit and evaluate the organization at any time necessary.
We are registered as an International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Sierra Leone. Operation Restore Hope is our name in Sierra Leone. This NGO is intended to primarily represent the SLKDDM, Inc in Sierra Leone; and is charged with the responsibility of carrying out the functions of KDA. Our offices will start to function soon.
NO. SLKDDM is free and clear of any political motivation from any politician, group of policians, or political parties. SLKDDM is not a medium of influence for political gains for politicians. It is just a simple non-profit organization poised to help improve the lives of Sierra Leoneans, and the people of Kenema District particularly.
